Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak (sliced into thin strips)
  • 3 potatoes (peeled and diced into 1/2-inch cubes)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (divided)
  • 1 onion (diced)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • salt (to taste)
  • black pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Steps

  1. 1

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 2

Add the diced potatoes to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown and tender, about 10-12 minutes. Remove the potatoes from the skillet and set aside.

  3. 3

In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil. Add the beef strips in a single layer and sear until browned on all sides, about 3-5 minutes.

  4. 4

Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the beef. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until the onion is translucent and fragrant.

  5. 5

Return the cooked potatoes to the skillet. Season with soy sauce, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

  6. 6

Toss everything together and cook for another 2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

  7. 7

Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

For best results, ensure the beef is at room temperature before searing to get a better crust. You can substitute the beef with chicken or tofu for a different protein option.
