Ingredients

  • 500 g Beef round (Cut into 6 thin steaks; pound if necessary.)
  • 100 g Ham (Sliced.)
  • 100 g Cheese (Sliced or cut into strips; use a cheese that melts well.)
  • 0.5 pieza Provoleta (Half of one piece; it will be used for the sauce or to top the rolls.)
  • 250 ml Cooking cream (For the creamy sauce.)
  • 1 pieza Green onion (Finely chopped.)
  • 3 pieza Large potato (Peeled and cut into chunks for making the mashed potatoes.)
  • Cream for the mashed potatoes (To taste; approximately 60 ml is estimated for the nutritional calculation.)
  • Butter (To taste, to enrich the mashed potatoes; approximately 30 g is estimated for the nutritional calculation.)
  • Salt (To taste, for the meat, sauce, and mashed potatoes.)
  • Black pepper (To taste.)

Steps

  1. 1

Prepare the potatoes: peel them, cut them into evenly sized pieces, and place them in a pot with cold salted water. Bring the water to a boil and cook for 15 to 20 minutes, until the potatoes are very tender when pierced with a fork.

  2. 2

While the potatoes are cooking, place the beef steaks between two sheets of plastic wrap or wax paper and gently pound them until thin and flexible. Season both sides with salt and pepper.

  3. 3

Place one slice of ham and a portion of cheese on each steak, leaving a small border around the edges. Roll the meat up tightly and secure each roll with toothpicks so the filling does not escape during cooking.

  4. 4

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat with a little oil or butter. Place the rolls seam-side down and sear them on all sides until browned, approximately 2 to 3 minutes per side.

  5. 5

Add the chopped green onion to the skillet and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, until softened and fragrant.

  6. 6

Pour the 250 ml of cream over the rolls. Add half of the provoleta and stir gently so it melts into the sauce. Reduce the heat, cover the skillet, and cook for 8 to 12 minutes, until the meat is fully cooked and the sauce looks thick and creamy.

  7. 7

Drain the cooked potatoes and mash them while still hot. Add butter, cream, salt, and pepper to taste, and mix until smooth; add the cream gradually to control the consistency.

  8. 8

Remove the toothpicks from the rolls. Serve the hot mashed potatoes with the rolls on top or alongside, and spoon the cream and cheese sauce over them. Serve immediately.

Notes

The publication states that the quantities are approximate for 6 rolls and does not include detailed preparation instructions; the steps were reconstructed in a culinary reasonable manner based on the ingredients. Verify that the meat reaches a safe internal temperature of 63 °C and rests for a few minutes before serving.
