Ingredients
- 200 g Shrimp (cleaned)
- Salt (to taste)
- Black pepper (to taste)
- Olive oil (a drizzle for sautéing)
- 100 g Mozzarella cheese (shredded)
- 1 Baguette (medium)
- 1 tbsp Butter (for the garlic paste)
- 1 tbsp Requeijão (or cream cheese)
- 1 tbsp Mayonnaise
- 5 Garlic (cloves)
- 1 tbsp Butter (melted, for finishing)
- Parsley (to taste, chopped)
Steps
- 1
Season the 200 g of shrimp with salt and pepper to taste.
- 2
In a skillet with a drizzle of olive oil, sauté the shrimp until they are pink and cooked through. Set aside.
- 3
Prepare the garlic paste by mixing 1 tbsp butter, 1 tbsp requeijão (or cream cheese), 1 tbsp mayonnaise, and the 5 finely minced or crushed garlic cloves until you achieve a smooth cream.
- 4
Cut the baguette into slices without cutting all the way through (accordion-style cuts) or make a longitudinal slit for filling.
- 5
Generously spread the garlic paste inside the cuts of the bread.
- 6
Fill the bread with the sautéed shrimp and the shredded mozzarella cheese.
- 7
Place in a preheated oven at 180°C or in an air fryer until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden and crispy.
- 8
Meanwhile, mix 1 tbsp of melted butter with chopped parsley to taste.
- 9
Upon removing the bread from the oven, brush the surface with the flavored butter and serve immediately.
Notes
Requeijão is a typical Brazilian cream cheese; if you cannot find it, you can substitute it with Philadelphia-style cream cheese for a similar texture.
