Ingredients
- 150 g shredded coconut
- 100 ml sweetened condensed milk
- 150 g chocolate (melted)
- 20 g vegetable oil
Steps
- 1
Add 100 milliliters of sweetened condensed milk to 150 grams of shredded coconut and mix well until the coconut is thoroughly moistened.
- 2
Transfer the coconut mixture into a mold lined with plastic wrap. Press it down firmly to create a compact, even layer.
- 3
Place the mold in the freezer for 20 minutes to allow the mixture to firm up.
- 4
After 20 minutes, remove the mixture from the freezer and cut it into rectangular pieces.
- 5
Shape the candies by folding or smoothing the edges to give them a rounded, bar-like appearance.
- 6
Place the shaped candies back in the freezer for an additional 10 minutes.
- 7
Melt 150 grams of chocolate in the microwave in short intervals, stirring between each, or over a double boiler until smooth.
- 8
Add 20 grams of vegetable oil to the melted chocolate and mix thoroughly; this helps thin the chocolate for dipping and gives it a nice sheen.
- 9
Line a board or tray with parchment paper.
- 10
Take the candies out of the freezer. Dip each bar into the melted chocolate until fully coated, then place them on the prepared parchment paper.
- 11
Place the coated bars in the refrigerator for 5 minutes until the chocolate is fully set.
- 12
Remove from the refrigerator. If desired, trim off any excess chocolate from the base to make the candies look neat.
Notes
The vegetable oil added to the chocolate helps prevent the chocolate from cracking when you bite into the bars and makes dipping easier. You can use milk, dark, or semi-sweet chocolate depending on your preference.
