Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 6 cloves Garlic (Minced)
- 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese (Mozzarella may be used instead)
- Salt (To taste; do not add additional salt if using the chicken bouillon cube)
- Freshly cracked black pepper (To taste)
- 1 tbsp Red chili flakes
- 0.5 cup Mushrooms (Sliced)
- 1 cup Spinach
- 0.5 box Pasta (Pasta of choice; source specifies half a box. Nutrition and weight estimate assume a standard 1 lb box.)
- 1 cube Chicken bouillon cube (Optional; omit additional salt if using)
- 0.5 cup Heavy whipping cream (The source spells this as “heaven whipping cream”)
- 0.5 tsp Salt for pasta water
- Pasta water (Add some to loosen the sauce if it becomes too thick)
Steps
- 1
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt to the water, then cook the pasta according to the package directions.
- 2
When the pasta is done, drain it and return it to the large pot.
- 3
Meanwhile, melt the butter in a large saucepan over low to medium-low heat.
- 4
Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for 30 seconds.
- 5
Add the sliced mushrooms and spinach. Cook for 1 minute.
- 6
Add the heavy whipping cream and whisk until the mixture is smooth.
- 7
Season with salt, freshly cracked black pepper, and red chili flakes. If using the chicken bouillon cube, add it now and do not add additional salt.
- 8
If the sauce is too thick, add some of the reserved pasta water to loosen it.
- 9
Add the Parmesan cheese, or mozzarella if using it instead.
- 10
Let the sauce simmer for about 5 minutes, whisking frequently while it simmers.
- 11
Pour the finished sauce over the noodles and stir well to coat the pasta evenly.
- 12
Serve immediately.
Notes
The source does not specify the exact pasta box size; the nutrition estimate assumes a standard 1 lb box. Reserve some pasta water before draining so it can be used to thin the sauce if necessary.
