- 1 tsp black pepper (For seasoning the chicken)
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 2 tbsp clarified butter or oil (For cooking the chicken)
- 2 tbsp fresh garlic (Finely minced, for the Alfredo sauce)
- 2 tbsp butter (For the Alfredo sauce)
- 1 cup unsweetened heavy whipping cream
- salt (To taste, for the Alfredo sauce)
- 1 tsp black pepper (For the Alfredo sauce)
- 0.5 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 0.5 cup unsalted butter (Softened, for the garlic butter compound)
- 1 tbsp fresh garlic (Finely minced, for the garlic butter compound)
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley (Finely chopped, plus some additional parsley for topping)
- salt (To taste, for the garlic butter compound)
- 1 loaf Italian bread (Cut in half lengthwise)
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
Steps
- 1
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- 2
Pat the chicken dry. Season both sides with salt, smoked paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and onion powder.
- 3
Heat the clarified butter or oil in a pan over medium heat. Once the butter is melted or the oil is hot, add the seasoned chicken.
- 4
Cook the chicken for 4–5 minutes per side, or until its internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- 5
Remove the chicken from the pan, slice it, and set it aside.
- 6
In another pan, melt the butter for the Alfredo sauce over medium-low heat.
- 7
Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- 8
Add the heavy whipping cream and bring the mixture to a boil.
- 9
Gradually add the Parmesan cheese, then season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- 10
Cook the Alfredo sauce over medium-low heat until it thickens.
- 11
Make the garlic butter compound by combining the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and salt to taste in a bowl. Mix well.
- 12
Cut the Italian loaf in half lengthwise and spread 2–3 tablespoons of the garlic butter compound over the cut surface.
- 13
Add Alfredo sauce over the bread, then add the mozzarella cheese.
- 14
Top the bread with the sliced chicken. Spoon more Alfredo sauce over the chicken and finish with some parsley.
- 15
Place the assembled bread on a baking sheet. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the bread is crispy and the cheese is melted and golden.
- 16
Serve warm, with any leftover Alfredo sauce if desired.
