Ingredients
- 1 cup self-rising flour
- 1 cup grated cheese (plus extra for topping; cheddar works well)
- 0.75 cup milk
Steps
- 1
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) or prepare your air fryer.
- 2
In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of self-rising flour, 1 cup of grated cheese, and 3/4 cup of milk.
- 3
Mix the ingredients together until a sticky dough forms.
- 4
Divide the dough into small portions and place them onto a baking tray or into the air fryer basket.
- 5
Sprinkle a little extra grated cheese on top of each bun.
- 6
If using an air fryer, cook for approximately 10 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. If using an oven at 180°C, bake until golden (typically 12-15 minutes).
Notes
You can substitute self-rising flour with Bisquick if preferred. For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of salt, pepper, or garlic powder, though the original recipe relies on the saltiness of the cheese.
