Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken wings
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp rice vinegar
- 0.5 tsp herb and garlic seasoning
- 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes
- 0.5 tsp garam masala
- 0.25 tsp white pepper
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- green onion (for garnish)
Steps
- 1
In a large bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, herb and garlic seasoning, red pepper flakes, garam masala, white pepper, black pepper, salt, and baking powder.
- 2
Add the chicken wings to the large bowl and mix thoroughly so the marinade coats all the chicken. Let the wings sit for 10-15 minutes before cooking to allow the flavors to penetrate.
- 3
Lay the wings side by side in the air fryer basket, ideally using a wire rack to promote air circulation. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary.
- 4
Air fry at 375°F to 390°F (190°C to 200°C) for 7-8 minutes per side, for a total cook time of about 15 minutes, until the wings are crispy and golden.
- 5
Garnish with sliced green onion and optionally serve with a side of gochujang hot sauce.
Notes
For the crispiest wings, pat them dry with paper towels before seasoning. Baking powder helps draw out moisture to create a crackly skin. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days and reheat in the air fryer at 375°F to maintain texture.
