Ingredients

  • 6 Weet-Bix
  • 0.5 cup Dates
  • 0.5 cup Currants or sultanas (Use either currants or sultanas.)
  • 1 cup Sunflower seeds
  • 0.5 cup Shredded coconut
  • 0.25 cup Cocoa powder
  • 0.25 cup Water (Add gradually; extra water may be needed if the mixture is too dry.)

Steps

  1. 1

Place the Weet-Bix, dates, currants or sultanas, sunflower seeds, shredded coconut, cocoa powder, and water in a food processor.

  2. 2

Process for a few minutes, stopping to scrape down the sides if needed, until the mixture looks sticky and begins to clump together.

  3. 3

Check the texture by pressing a little mixture between your fingers. It should hold together easily. If it is still crumbly, add a small splash of extra water and process again until cohesive.

  4. 4

Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of the mixture and roll each portion between your palms into a compact ball.

  5. 5

Transfer the balls to an airtight container and store them in the refrigerator.

Notes

The balls are fridge- and freezer-friendly. Give the mixture time to process before adding extra water, and add water gradually so it does not become too wet.
