Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 0.5 tsp paprika
- 0.5 tsp Italian seasoning
- 0.5 tsp onion powder
- 0.5 tsp garlic powder
- 0.5 tsp salt
Steps
- 1
Preheat the air fryer to 410 °F (210 °C).
- 2
In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, paprika, Italian seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, and salt until evenly mixed.
- 3
Add the chicken breast to the bowl and toss until completely coated with the seasonings. You can do this with your hands or with tongs.
- 4
Place the chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer without overlapping.
- 5
Air-fry for 10-12 minutes, turning halfway through cooking. The chicken is ready when it reaches an internal temperature of 165 °F (75 °C). The cooking time may vary depending on the size and thickness: approximately 8 minutes for a small breast, 10 for a medium one, and 12 for a large one.
- 6
Transfer the cooked chicken to a bowl and let it rest for 5 minutes.
- 7
Shred the chicken with two forks. Alternatively, place it in a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment and mix briefly to shred it quickly.
Notes
Cooking times are approximate and may vary depending on the air fryer model and the thickness of the chicken breasts. To check for doneness, the thickest part should be white and juicy, with no pink or translucent areas; if it is still undercooked, cook it for 1-2 minutes longer. Olive oil can be replaced with avocado oil or another neutral oil. To vary the flavor, add cumin, black pepper, chili powder, or taco seasoning.
