Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup rolled oats
  • 0.5 cup milk of choice
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp sweetener (honey or maple syrup) (Choose honey or maple syrup.)
  • 1 cup mashed fruit of choice (Add before or after setting; banana is best added immediately before eating.)

Steps

  1. 1

Put the rolled oats, milk, chia seeds, chosen sweetener, and mashed fruit into a large glass container. Mix until combined.

  2. 2

Cover the container with a lid or plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight. Toppings may be added the night before or immediately before serving.

  3. 3

Uncover and enjoy the oats from the glass container the next day. If desired, thin with a little more milk or water.

Notes

The recipe does not specify a particular fruit or milk, so nutrition is an estimate based on generic fruit and dairy milk. If using banana, add it immediately before eating. Toppings and extra milk or water are optional and unquantified.
