Ingredients

  • 150 g ground beef (shaped into a thick patty)
  • 2 rice paper sheets (for wrapping)
  • 1 fetta cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp caramelized onions
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)
  • salt and pepper (to taste)

Steps

  1. 1

Season the ground beef patty with salt and pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

Sear the burger in a hot pan until cooked to your desired doneness, then place a slice of cheddar cheese on top and let it melt slightly.

  3. 3

Soak the rice paper sheets in warm water until they become pliable.

  4. 4

Place the cooked burger in the center of the rice paper and top with the caramelized onions.

  5. 5

Fold the edges of the rice paper over the burger to seal it completely, creating a tight package (use a second sheet if needed for reinforcement).

  6. 6

Heat the oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Fry the rice paper-wrapped burger on both sides until the exterior is golden brown and very crispy.

  7. 7

Remove from the pan, drain off any excess oil, and serve immediately while hot.

Notes

This recipe is a modern reinterpretation that replaces bread or puff pastry crust with rice paper for a unique texture. Make sure the rice paper is well sealed to prevent oil from penetrating during frying.
