Ingredients
- 100 ml vegetable oil
- 100 g brown sugar (Can be replaced with granulated sugar; according to the author, brown sugar provides better flavor.)
- 1 egg (Whole egg.)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (Can be replaced with vanilla sugar.)
- 150 g all-purpose flour (In the video, the author says she also used bread flour and it worked.)
- 30 g cocoa powder
- 0.5 tsp baking soda
- salt (A pinch)
- 100 g chopped chocolate
Steps
- 1
Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
- 2
In a bowl, mix the vegetable oil, brown sugar, and whole egg.
- 3
Add the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and a pinch of salt. Mix until a dough forms.
- 4
Stir in the chopped chocolate.
- 5
Shape the dough into balls with your hands, then flatten them into cookies on the baking sheet.
- 6
Bake for 8–10 minutes at 180 °C.
- 7
After removing the cookies from the oven, let them firm up on the baking sheet for at least 5–10 minutes; they will still be soft immediately after baking.
Notes
When mixing the dough, the author omits the vanilla extract from the procedure, even though it is listed among the ingredients; it can be added to the wet ingredients. The desired number of cookies depends on their size. In the video, the author once baked them for 12 minutes, but the recipe description states 8–10 minutes. The stated total time includes 5–10 minutes of cooling.
