Ingredients

  • 300 g Brussels sprouts (washed and cut in 2 pieces)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (divided)
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar (optional)
  • salt (as per taste)
  • black pepper (as per taste)

Steps

  1. 1

Wash and cut the Brussels sprouts in halves. Dry them thoroughly with a tissue or paper towel.

  2. 2

Toss the halved sprouts along with 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a mixing bowl until well coated.

  3. 3

Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (350°F) for 5 minutes.

  4. 4

Layer the vegetables in the air fryer crisping tray or basket in a single layer without overlapping.

  5. 5

Air fry for 10 minutes at 180°C (350°F).

  6. 6

Remove the basket from the air fryer and toss the sprouts with the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper.

  7. 7

Return to the air fryer and cook for an additional 4 minutes at 180°C (350°F).

  8. 8

Serve the Brussels sprouts hot immediately.

Notes

For frozen Brussels sprouts, add 2-3 minutes to the cooking time. For a variation, you can make 'Smashed Brussels Sprouts' by boiling them for 15-20 minutes until soft, smashing them with a glass, and then air frying at 180°C/355°F for 8-9 minutes on one side and 5-6 minutes on the other.
