Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground meat of choice, preferably boneless chicken thighs (The author used ground boneless chicken thighs.)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tbsp Red chili flakes
  • 10 Mini tacos
  • Salt (To taste.)
  • 1 tbsp Black pepper (For seasoning the meat.)
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 10 Cheddar cheese slices
  • 4 tbsp Oil (For cooking.)
  • Red onion (Diced; for topping.)
  • Tomatoes (Diced; for topping.)
  • Lettuce (Diced; for topping.)
  • Jalapeños (For topping.)
  • Banana peppers (For topping.)
  • 1 cup Mayonnaise (For the burger taco sauce.)
  • 0.5 cup Ketchup (For the burger taco sauce.)
  • 1 tsp Black pepper (For the burger taco sauce.)
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (For the burger taco sauce.)
  • 0.5 tsp Garlic powder (For the burger taco sauce.)
  • 1 tsp Sliced jalapeños (Optional; for the burger taco sauce.)

Steps

  1. 1

Season the ground meat with salt, black pepper, red chili flakes, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until combined, then shape the mixture into small balls.

  2. 2

In a skillet, heat the cooking oil over medium-high heat.

  3. 3

Place the meat balls in the skillet and press each one down with a flat surface to form smashed patties.

  4. 4

Cook the patties, then flip them after 3 minutes.

  5. 5

Add shredded mozzarella cheese on top of each burger patty and cover each with a mini taco. Press the taco down and cook for 5–6 minutes, or until the patty is fully cooked.

  6. 6

Flip the taco, then place a cheddar cheese slice on top of the patty.

  7. 7

Cover the skillet so the cheddar melts. Reduce the heat to low so the taco does not burn on the bottom.

  8. 8

While the cheese melts, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, black pepper, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, and optional sliced jalapeños to make the burger taco sauce.

  9. 9

Once the cheese has melted, add diced lettuce, tomato, red onion, jalapeños, and banana peppers to the tacos.

  10. 10

Drizzle the burger taco sauce over the toppings and serve.

Notes

The source does not specify an exact skillet temperature, the amount of each topping, or the internal temperature for doneness. Ensure the ground chicken or other meat is fully cooked before serving.
