Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef, 80% lean and 20% fat
- mini taco shells (8–10 shells)
- 10 cheddar cheese slices
- 1 cup chopped lettuce
- 1 cup pickles
- salt (To taste; also use a pinch on each beef-topped shell.)
- 1 cup mayonnaise (For the Big Mac sauce)
- 3 tbsp ketchup (For the Big Mac sauce)
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (For the Big Mac sauce)
- 2 tbsp yellow onion, diced (For the Big Mac sauce)
- salt (To taste, for the Big Mac sauce)
- 1 tbsp relish, chopped (For the Big Mac sauce)
- 1 tbsp white vinegar (For the Big Mac sauce)
- 1 tbsp garlic powder (For the Big Mac sauce)
- 1 tsp black pepper (For the Big Mac sauce)
- 1 tsp smoked paprika (For the Big Mac sauce)
- cooking oil (A small amount, for heating the skillet)
Steps
- 1
Make the Big Mac sauce by combining the mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, diced yellow onion, salt, chopped relish, white vinegar, garlic powder, black pepper, and smoked paprika in a bowl.
- 2
Mix the sauce ingredients until well combined. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes so the flavors can meld.
- 3
Heat a skillet over high heat and add a small amount of cooking oil.
- 4
Place 2–3 tablespoons of ground beef in the center of each mini taco shell.
- 5
Gently press the ground beef down onto each shell to create an even layer, then sprinkle a pinch of salt over the beef.
- 6
Place the beef side of the tacos down in the hot skillet, then immediately reduce the heat to medium-low.
- 7
Cook for 4–5 minutes, or until the ground beef is cooked through. If the skillet is large enough, cook two tacos at a time.
- 8
Flip the tacos and cook the other side until the shells are crispy and golden.
- 9
Top each taco with one slice of cheddar cheese, chopped lettuce, and pickles.
- 10
Drizzle the chilled Big Mac sauce over each taco.
- 11
Serve the Big Mac tacos immediately.
Notes
The source says to add a small amount of oil but does not specify a quantity. It also refers to the mini shells as tortillas during preparation. The source does not specify an exact final internal temperature for the beef.
