  • milk (For the broth)
  • half-and-half (For the broth)
  • chicken bouillon cube (For the broth)
  • chili flakes (Add to the broth; use more at the end if desired for extra spice)
  • onion powder (For the broth)
  • paprika (For the broth)
  • sugar (For the broth)
  • cooked rice (For serving)

Steps

  1. 1

Make the chicken glaze by mixing soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and water together. Set the sauce aside.

  2. 2

Season the chicken thighs with salt and black pepper, then coat them with cornstarch.

  3. 3

Heat a little oil in a pan and fry the coated chicken thighs until they develop a crisp, browned sear and are cooked through.

  4. 4

Pour the prepared glaze into the pan with the chicken. Cook until the sauce reduces and thickens, coating the chicken.

  5. 5

Remove the glazed chicken from the pan and chop it into serving pieces.

  6. 6

For the broth, sauté the garlic and gochujang in butter until combined and fragrant.

  7. 7

Add the milk, half-and-half, chicken bouillon cube, soy sauce, chili flakes, salt, onion powder, paprika, and sugar to the pan.

  8. 8

Cook the mixture into a creamy, seasoned broth, stirring until the bouillon and seasonings are incorporated.

  9. 9

Plate the rice and arrange the chopped glazed chicken over it.

  10. 10

Pour the creamy broth around the rice and chicken. Finish with green onions and additional chili flakes if you prefer more heat.
