Ingredients
- 3 Potatoes (Use three to four potatoes, depending on size; cut into bite-sized pieces.)
- 12 oz Fresh green beans (Washed and trimmed; another vegetable may be substituted.)
- 2 Chicken breasts (Cubed.)
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Black pepper
- 1 heaping spoonful Minced garlic (Add a little more if desired.)
- 0.25 cup Low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Apple cider vinegar (Regular vinegar may be used instead.)
- 0.5 cup Chicken broth
- 2 tsp Onion powder
- 2 tsp Smoked paprika (Regular paprika may be used instead.)
- 0.5 cup Honey (Mike's Hot Honey may be used for a sweet-heat variation.)
- 2 tbsp Potato Slayer seasoning (The source uses Fire & Smoke Potato Slayer; any preferred seasoning blend may be substituted.)
- 0.5 stick Butter (Cut into squares and place on top.)
- 2 tbsp Cornstarch (For thickening the sauce.)
- 2 tbsp Water (Mix with the cornstarch to make a slurry.)
Steps
- 1
Wash and cut three to four potatoes into bite-sized pieces. Add the potatoes to the crockpot.
- 2
Wash and trim the fresh green beans, then add them to the crockpot.
- 3
Cube the two chicken breasts and add the chicken to the crockpot.
- 4
Add the salt, black pepper, minced garlic, low-sodium soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, chicken broth, onion powder, smoked paprika, honey, and Potato Slayer seasoning. Adjust the seasoning blend to taste if desired.
- 5
Cut the butter into squares and place the pieces on top of the ingredients.
- 6
Cover the crockpot with its lid. Cook on high for three to four hours or on low for six to seven hours.
- 7
About 30 minutes before the cooking time is complete, mix the cornstarch and water together until smooth.
- 8
Pour the cornstarch slurry into the crockpot and give the contents a quick stir to incorporate it into the sauce.
- 9
Replace the lid and continue cooking on high for the final 30 minutes, until the sauce has thickened and the chicken and vegetables are done.
- 10
Serve the finished honey garlic chicken, potatoes, and green beans with the thickened sauce.
Notes
The source does not specify a chicken-safe internal temperature; verify that the chicken is fully cooked before serving. Green beans can be replaced with another vegetable, apple cider vinegar with regular vinegar, smoked paprika with regular paprika, and Potato Slayer with another seasoning blend.
