Ingredients
- 0.5 Sweet potato (peeled and cubed)
- 2 oz Salmon fillet (skinless and boneless)
- 0.5 cup Fresh spinach (packed)
- 0.25 cup Water (for steaming and thinning)
Steps
- 1
Peel the sweet potato and cut it into small, uniform cubes for even cooking.
- 2
Place the sweet potato cubes into a steamer basket over boiling water. Cover and steam for about 8-10 minutes.
- 3
Add the salmon fillet to the steamer basket with the sweet potatoes. Cover and continue to steam for another 5 minutes until the salmon is cooked through and the potatoes are fork-tender.
- 4
Add the fresh spinach to the steamer for the last 1-2 minutes of cooking, just until wilted.
- 5
Remove the ingredients from the steamer and let them cool slightly.
- 6
Transfer the steamed sweet potato, salmon, and spinach into a blender or food processor.
- 7
Add a small amount of the steaming water (or breast milk/formula) and blend until the mixture reaches a completely smooth consistency suitable for a 7-month-old.
Notes
Always check the salmon thoroughly for any small bones before blending. This puree can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours or frozen in small portions for up to 1 month.
