  • 1 cup Cheddar (freshly grated)
  • Pepper (a pinch)
  • 0.5 cup Tomato paste
  • 0.25 cup Water
  • 2 EL Apple cider vinegar
  • 2 EL Brown sugar
  • 0.25 TL Onion powder
  • 0.25 TL Garlic powder
  • 0.25 TL Salt
  • 0.25 cup Peanut butter (creamy)
  • 1 EL Soy sauce
  • 1 EL Lime juice
  • 2 TL Honey
  • 1 Garlic (small clove, grated)
  • 2 EL Warm water (add gradually)
  • Chili flakes (optional, to taste for heat)
  • 0.5 cup Water
  • 0.25 cup Rice vinegar
  • 0.25 cup Sugar
  • 1 TL Chili flakes
  • 1 Garlic (minced)
  • 1 TL Cornstarch (mixed with 1 tbsp cold water)
  • 1 EL Cold water (for the cornstarch mixture)
  • 0.25 cup Reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 0.25 cup Water
  • 2 EL Brown sugar
  • 1 EL Rice vinegar
  • 1 TL Ginger (grated)
  • 1 Garlic (minced)
  • 1 TL Cornstarch (mixed with 1 tbsp cold water)
  • 1 EL Cold water (for the cornstarch mixture)
  • 1 cup Crushed tomatoes
  • 1 EL Tomato paste
  • 1 TL Olive oil
  • 0.5 TL Garlic powder
  • 0.5 TL Dried oregano
  • 0.25 TL Salt
  • Pepper (a pinch)

Steps

  1. 1

For the cheese sauce, melt the butter in a saucepan. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.

  2. 2

Gradually add the milk, whisking constantly. Simmer until the sauce thickens.

  3. 3

Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the Cheddar until the sauce is smooth. Season with a pinch of pepper.

  4. 4

For the ketchup, combine the tomato paste, water, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, and salt in a saucepan.

  5. 5

Simmer gently over low heat for 5–7 minutes, stirring frequently.

  6. 6

Stir in a splash of water if necessary. Then let cool.

  7. 7

For the peanut sauce, stir together the peanut butter, soy sauce, lime juice, honey, and grated garlic.

  8. 8

Gradually stir in the warm water until the sauce is smooth and pourable. Add chili flakes to taste for extra heat, if desired.

  9. 9

For the sweet chili sauce, simmer the water, rice vinegar, sugar, chili flakes, and minced garlic in a saucepan for 3–4 minutes; set aside the prepared cornstarch mixture for now.

  10. 10

Stir in the cornstarch mixture and continue simmering the sauce for 1 minute, until slightly thickened.

  11. 11

For the teriyaki sauce, simmer the soy sauce, water, brown sugar, rice vinegar, grated ginger, and minced garlic in a saucepan for 2–3 minutes; set aside the prepared cornstarch mixture for now.

  12. 12

Add the cornstarch mixture and simmer for 1 minute, until the sauce is glossy.

  13. 13

For the pizza sauce, stir together the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, olive oil, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and a pinch of pepper.

  14. 14

Use the sauce directly on pizza, or simmer it for 8–10 minutes if you want it to be thicker.

Notes

The recipes do not specify serving sizes or yields; the yield is therefore unspecified. For the ketchup, the amount of water in the additional splash is not specified. For the peanut sauce, the chili is optional and has no specified quantity. The cheese sauce contains an inconsistency in the ingredient list: pepper is explicitly included, but salt is not. The sauce can be cooked until thicker or used directly on pizza.
