Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup Chickpeas (dried, for toasting)
  • 0.5 cup Almonds (raw)
  • 0.5 cup Cashew nuts (raw)
  • 0.5 cup Peanuts (raw)
  • 0.25 cup Pumpkin seeds (pepitas)
  • 2 tbsp Flax seeds (whole)
  • 1 cup Rolled oats
  • 2 tbsp Chia seeds
  • 0.5 cup Powdered milk (optional, for drinking consistency)

Steps

  1. 1

Place the chickpeas, almonds, cashew nuts, and peanuts in a dry pan or skillet over medium heat.

  2. 2

Toast the nuts and chickpeas, stirring frequently, until they are nicely browned and fragrant. Transfer them to a large bowl to cool down completely.

  3. 3

In the same pan, add the pumpkin seeds and flax seeds. Toast them briefly until they become aromatic, then transfer them to the bowl with the nuts.

  4. 4

Add the rolled oats and chia seeds to the bowl with the toasted ingredients and mix everything together.

  5. 5

Transfer the mixture to a high-powered blender. Pulse for a few seconds initially to break down the larger pieces.

  6. 6

Proceed to blend for a few minutes until the mixture is ground into a fine powder.

  7. 7

Transfer the powder to a clean bowl and stir in the powdered milk if you intend to use this as a drinkable shake.

  8. 8

Store the finished powder in an airtight container.

Notes

This powder is high in healthy fats and carbohydrates; it is intended for muscle building and stamina rather than strict weight loss. It can be added to smoothies, pancake batters, overnight oats, chia pudding, or yogurt bowls. The flavor is similar to soybean powder.
