Ingredients

  • 0.333 cup Vanilla custard powder
  • 1 L Milk (Use 1/2 cup of the warm milk to mix with the custard powder before adding it to the pot.)
  • 0.75 cup Sugar
  • Bananas (Use any desired amount; cut into small pieces.)
  • Red grapes (Use any desired amount; cut into small pieces if needed.)
  • Green grapes (Use any desired amount; cut into small pieces if needed.)
  • Strawberries (Use any desired amount; cut into small pieces.)
  • Apple (Use any desired amount; cut into small pieces.)
  • Pomegranate (Use any desired amount; remove the arils from the fruit as needed.)
  • Mango (Use any desired amount; cut into small pieces.)
  • Nuts (Optional topping.)

Steps

  1. 1

Pour the milk into a pot and bring it to a boil.

  2. 2

Add the sugar to the hot milk and whisk well until the sugar has dissolved.

  3. 3

Measure the custard powder into a bowl. Add 1/2 cup of the warm milk and whisk thoroughly until smooth and lump-free.

  4. 4

Pour the custard mixture into the pot of milk and mix until fully combined.

  5. 5

Cook over medium heat, whisking constantly, for 4–5 minutes, until the custard thickens.

  6. 6

Turn off the heat and let the custard cool to room temperature.

  7. 7

Chill the custard in the refrigerator for a minimum of 2 hours.

  8. 8

Cut the selected fruits—bananas, red and green grapes, strawberries, apple, pomegranate, and mango—into small pieces.

  9. 9

Add the cut fruits to the chilled custard and mix well.

  10. 10

Optionally top the fruit custard with nuts and serve.

Notes

Use soft fruits and avoid fruits such as guava that contain seeds. The quantities for the fruits and optional nuts were not specified in the source. The recipe does not specify whether the fruit custard should be served immediately after mixing or chilled again after the fruit is added.
