Ingredients
- 200 g Dried chickpeas (soaked for at least 12 hours and then boiled until tender)
- 100 g Dark chocolate (melted)
Steps
- 1
Soak the chickpeas in plenty of water for at least 12 hours.
- 2
Drain the soaking water and boil the chickpeas in fresh water until tender.
- 3
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- 4
Place the cooked and well-drained chickpeas on a baking sheet without adding any oil.
- 5
Bake for approximately 40 minutes until very crispy, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure even cooking.
- 6
While the chickpeas cool slightly, melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler or in the microwave in short intervals.
- 7
Place all the crispy chickpeas into the melted chocolate and stir well until each chickpea is completely coated.
- 8
Spread the coated chickpeas onto a tray lined with parchment paper, separating them so they don't stick together in a single block.
- 9
Place in the freezer until the chocolate is cold and firm.
Notes
It is essential that the chickpeas are well-dried before putting them in the oven so they become truly crispy. You can also try a savory version using garlic powder and paprika before baking.
