Ingredients

  • 1 Baguette (good-sized baguette; keep the thicker half)
  • 1 paquet Bacon lardons (small packet; quantity unspecified)
  • Onions (a few sliced onions, optional; quantity unspecified)
  • 5 tranches Raclette cheese (good-sized slices, cut into small pieces)

Steps

  1. 1

Cut the baguette in half lengthwise. Keep the thicker half and press the crumb down toward the bottom to create space for the filling.

  2. 2

Sauté the bacon lardons in a frying pan until cooked. Set them aside, leaving the bacon fat in the pan.

  3. 3

If using, add the sliced onions to the bacon fat and sauté until tender.

  4. 4

While the onions are cooking, cut the raclette cheese slices into small pieces.

  5. 5

Add the cheese to the pan with the onions and let it melt, stirring. Stir the reserved bacon lardons into the melted mixture.

  6. 6

Fill the baguette with the hot cheese, onion and bacon mixture. Serve and eat immediately.

Notes

The creator does not specify the weight of the packet of bacon lardons or the quantity of onions. The bread is described as somewhat difficult to eat once filled.
