Weights are estimates. Together, the ingredients weigh about 3.21 kg before cooking, which is about 400 g per serving.
Steps
Chop one white onion. Cook the onion down with the ground beef until the beef is cooked through and the onion has softened.
Add one jar of spaghetti sauce and one 32-ounce container of beef broth to the crockpot. The source suggests pouring the broth into the empty sauce jar and swishing it around first to loosen and use the remaining sauce, then adding it to the crockpot.
Add the cooked onion and ground beef mixture to the crockpot.
Season with a dash of salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning, using amounts to taste. Stir the mixture together.
Put the crockpot lid on and cook on high for 2 to 4 hours. This stage allows the meat to soak in the sauce. If you are in a rush, the source says you can skip cooking the meat and onion separately and dump everything together instead.
Break the entire package of lasagna noodles into pieces and add them to the crockpot.
Add one cup of heavy whipping cream to the crockpot.
Add one full cup of Parmesan cheese.
Add the package of mozzarella pearls. If mozzarella pearls are unavailable, break up a mozzarella ball and add it instead.
Give the noodles, cream, Parmesan, and mozzarella a good stir so the ingredients are distributed through the soup.
Put the lid back on and cook on high for about 1 hour, or until the lasagna noodles are done.
Ladle the lasagna soup into bowls and serve. Top each serving with ricotta cheese if desired.
Notes
The source does not specify the size of the spaghetti sauce jar, lasagna-noodle package, or mozzarella package; typical package sizes were estimated for nutrition and serving calculations. It also does not specify an exact amount of ricotta or seasonings. The source gives a high-setting slow-cooker time of 2–4 hours for the first stage, followed by about 1 hour after adding the noodles and cheeses.
