Ingredients
- 2 chicken drumsticks (bones only, meat removed and reserved)
- 2 chicken breast (butterflied and pounded thin)
- 200 g ground pork
- 0.5 cup bread crumbs
- 1 egg (beaten)
- 0.5 onion (finely minced)
- salt (to taste)
- black pepper (to taste)
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil (for browning)
- 2 boiled egg (optional, for the center)
Steps
- 1
Prepare the chicken drumstick bones by removing the meat (reserve for another use or mince into the pork mixture) and cleaning the bones thoroughly.
- 2
Butterfly the chicken breasts and pound them between sheets of plastic wrap until they are thin and even in thickness.
- 3
In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, bread crumbs, beaten egg, minced onion, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until the mixture is tacky.
- 4
Take a portion of the pork mixture and wrap it around the center of a drumstick bone, forming a large oval shape. If using a boiled egg, place it against the bone and wrap the meat around both.
- 5
Wrap the pounded chicken breast around the pork mixture, ensuring it is completely enclosed. Secure the edges if necessary.
- 6
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear the meat on all sides until the outer chicken is golden brown.
- 7
Transfer the seared meat to an oven preheated to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- 8
Let the meat rest for 5 minutes before serving to ensure it stays juicy.
Notes
This recipe is inspired by the Sanji's Room recipes found in the official One Piece cookbook. The key is to ensure the outer chicken breast is thin enough to wrap fully around the filling.
