Ingredients

  • 1 lb Chicken wings (split into flats and drumettes)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Black pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp Cornstarch (for crispiness)
  • 2 tbsp Cooking oil (for frying or coating)
  • 0.25 cup Sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp Lime juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 0.5 tsp Red chili flakes (adjust for spice level)

Steps

  1. 1

Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to ensure maximum crispiness.

  2. 2

In a large bowl, season the wings with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  3. 3

Add the cornstarch to the wings and toss until every piece is evenly coated.

  4. 4

Heat oil in a pan or air fryer. Cook the wings until they are golden brown and crispy (about 15-20 minutes in an air fryer at 400°F/200°C, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F).

  5. 5

While the wings cook, prepare the sauce by combining the sweet chili sauce, lime juice, and red chili flakes in a small bowl.

  6. 6

Once the wings are done, transfer them to a clean bowl.

  7. 7

Pour the sweet chili lime sauce over the hot wings and toss until thoroughly coated.

  8. 8

Serve immediately while hot and crispy.

Notes

For extra tang, garnish with fresh lime zest or cilantro. If you prefer more heat, increase the amount of red chili flakes or add a splash of sriracha to the sauce.
