Ingredients
- 170 g unsalted butter (melted)
- 67 g granulated sugar
- 110 g brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1.5 tsp vanilla extract
- 240 g plain (all-purpose) flour
- 0.5 tsp baking soda
- salt (a pinch)
- chocolate chips (as much as you like, plus extra for topping)
- Nutella (as much as you like)
Steps
- 1
Preheat the oven to 175°C. Grease or line a 20–22 cm round springform pan.
- 2
In a large bowl, whisk the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until smooth.
- 3
Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well combined.
- 4
Add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir just until combined; do not overmix.
- 5
Fold the chocolate chips into the dough.
- 6
Press half of the cookie dough evenly into the prepared pan.
- 7
Spread a generous layer of Nutella over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- 8
Flatten pieces of the remaining cookie dough and gently place them over the Nutella, covering the surface. Press the edges together to seal in the filling.
- 9
Sprinkle extra chocolate chips over the top.
- 10
Bake for 20–30 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and the centre is still slightly soft.
- 11
Let cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
Notes
Chocolate chips and Nutella are unquantified in the source; use an amount to taste. The recipe gives a yield of 9–12 slices. Prep and total times are estimates; the source does not state them.
