Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic (Finely minced)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley (Chopped)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp baking powder
- 0.25 tsp black pepper
- butter or oil for the pan (For lightly greasing the skillet and brushing the finished flatbreads; amount as needed)
Steps
- 1
Whisk the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper together in a mixing bowl.
- 2
Add the milk, egg, and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Whisk until the batter is smooth and pourable.
- 3
Stir in the finely minced garlic and chopped fresh parsley.
- 4
Leave the batter to rest for 10 minutes so the flour hydrates. Keep it slightly thinner than pancake batter so it will spread easily.
- 5
Lightly grease a non-stick skillet with butter or oil. Heat it over medium-low heat, approximately 325–350°F (165–175°C).
- 6
Pour about ⅓ cup of batter into the center of the heated skillet and gently spread it into a thin round.
- 7
Cook for 2–3 minutes, until the bottom has golden spots and the top is mostly set.
- 8
Flip the flatbread and cook for another 1–2 minutes, until cooked through and lightly browned.
- 9
Brush the hot flatbread lightly with melted butter.
- 10
Repeat with the remaining batter, lightly greasing the pan as needed and brushing each finished flatbread with melted butter.
Notes
The recipe yields 5–6 flatbreads. No rising time is needed. The source does not specify the type of milk or an exact amount of butter or oil for greasing and finishing.
