Steamed Chicken with Chinese Sausage

Steamed Chicken with Chinese Sausage

Imported by John Tan on SeeMeCook

This is a classic Cantonese home-style dish. The rich, savory fat from the Chinese sausage permeates the tender chicken thigh, while precise steaming with the Thermomix® locks in the juices.

Ingredients

  • 1 Boneless, skinless chicken thighs (sliced)
  • 0.25 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Rice wine
  • 1 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 0.5 tbsp Tapioca starch
  • 2 Cantonese Chinese sausage (rinsed and sliced)
  • 500 g Water (for steaming)
  • 1 Green onion (julienned)

Steps

  1. 1

Place the sliced chicken thighs in a bowl. Add the salt, rice wine, soy sauce, and tapioca starch, and mix well to marinate.

  2. 2

Combine the marinated chicken with the sliced Cantonese Chinese sausage and spread evenly in the steaming tray.

  3. 3

Place 500 g water in the mixing bowl. Set up the Varoma and steam for 25 minutes / Varoma / speed 1.

  4. 4

Remove the Varoma after steaming, sprinkle with the julienned green onion, and serve hot.

Notes

The essence of this dish lies in the combination of the Chinese sausage’s sweet-salty flavor with the chicken. For the best texture, choose Cantonese Chinese sausage with some fat.
