Ingredients
- 3 tbsp oats
- 3 tsp chia seeds
- 2 tbsp almond flour
- 2 tbsp yogurt (Fage UK recommended)
- 100 ml milk of choice (a long splash; use 100-200 ml depending on desired consistency)
- 1 tsp sweetener of choice (date or silan syrup recommended for a baked taste)
- salt (a pinch)
- vanilla extract (a splash)
- winter spices (optional; cinnamon, nutmeg, or cardamom)
- almond extract (optional; a drop)
- roasted sliced almonds (for topping)
- powdered sugar (optional for aesthetic)
Steps
- 1
In a jar or container, combine the oats, chia seeds, almond flour, yogurt, milk, sweetener, salt, and vanilla.
- 2
If using, add the optional winter spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom) or a drop of almond extract.
- 3
Mix everything together thoroughly.
- 4
Cover and refrigerate overnight (or for at least 4-6 hours).
- 5
In the morning, top with roasted sliced almonds for extra baked flavor and crunch.
- 6
Optionally dust with a little powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
The author suggests batch-making this by doubling or tripling the amounts. Date or silan syrup is specifically recommended to achieve a 'freshly baked' flavor profile.
