Ingredients

  • 1 lb strawberries (Reserve 4 strawberries for garnish; chop the remainder.)
  • 0.5 cup sugar
  • salt (A pinch.)
  • water (Add to the saucepan with the strawberries and sugar; amount not specified.)
  • 0.5 cup heavy whipping cream (Whip until soft peaks form; additional fresh whipped cream may be used for garnish if desired.)
  • plain biscuits (Amount not specified; crush for the layers.)
  • 3 tbsp butter (Source states 3–4 tbsp; melt before mixing with the crushed biscuits.)
  • fresh berries (Optional garnish.)
  • whipped cream (Optional garnish and topping; amount not specified.)

Steps

  1. 1

Reserve 4 strawberries for garnish. Chop the remaining strawberries.

  2. 2

Place the chopped strawberries in a saucepan. Add the water, sugar, and a pinch of salt.

  3. 3

Bring the strawberry mixture to a boil, then blend it with a hand blender until it becomes a thick sauce. Allow the sauce to cool.

  4. 4

In a mixing bowl, blend the heavy whipping cream with a hand blender until soft peaks form.

  5. 5

Add the cooled strawberry sauce to the whipped cream and fold until completely mixed. Set the strawberry mousse aside.

  6. 6

Crush the plain biscuits and mix them with the melted butter.

  7. 7

For each serving cup, add a layer of the buttered biscuit mixture.

  8. 8

Top the biscuit layer with the prepared strawberry mousse mixture.

  9. 9

Add another layer of crushed biscuits, then top with fresh whipped cream. Garnish with the reserved strawberries and additional berries if desired.

  10. 10

Chill the assembled dessert cups for at least 4 hours before serving.
