- Avocado oil (For drizzling over the steak; amount to taste.)
- SPG seasoning (Salt, pepper, and garlic; use generously and to taste.)
- 8 oz Sliced baby bella mushrooms
- 1 Sliced yellow onion
- 2 tbsp Butter (For the mushrooms and onion.)
- 2 tbsp Minced garlic
- 1.5 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2.5 tbsp Honey (The source indicates 2 to 3 tbsp.)
- 2 packages Mashed Palmini (Two packages; the source does not specify the weight of each package.)
- 3 tbsp Butter (For the Palmini mash.)
- 0.5 cup Light sour cream
- 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 Bacon (Cook until crisp and chop once cooled.)
- 0.333 cup Sliced fresh scallions
- Salt (To taste, for the mash.)
- Black pepper (To taste, for the mash.)
- Garlic powder (To taste, for the mash.)
- 2.5 tbsp Milk (To loosen the mash; the source indicates 2 to 3 tbsp.)
- Chopped parsley (For garnish.)
Steps
- 1
Fry the bacon in a skillet until crisp. Remove it and reserve the bacon fat in the skillet; once cooled, chop the bacon.
- 2
Cut the steak into small cubes. Place it in a bowl, drizzle with avocado oil, season generously with the SPG seasoning, and mix well.
- 3
Heat the bacon fat over medium-high heat. Sear the steak cubes for approximately 2 to 3 minutes per side, forming a crust and cooking them approximately 75% of the way through. Remove them from the skillet.
- 4
Reduce the heat to medium. Add the mushrooms and onion to the skillet and sauté for 12 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender and caramelized.
- 5
While the vegetables cook, place the mashed Palmini in a small pot over low heat. Add the butter, sour cream, salt, pepper, and garlic powder; stir until combined.
- 6
Gradually stir in the milk to loosen the mash as needed.
- 7
Add the shredded cheddar, chopped bacon, and scallions to the mash. Stir and keep warm over low heat until serving.
- 8
When the mushrooms and onion are nearly done, add the butter and minced garlic. Stir well to combine and flavor the vegetables.
- 9
Return the steak to the skillet. Add the Worcestershire sauce and honey, stir frequently, and cook for a few more minutes, until the steak is fully cooked.
- 10
Serve the Palmini mash on plates and top with the steak bites, mushrooms, and onion. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve.
Notes
The quantities are approximate and can be adjusted to taste. The source suggests substituting mashed potatoes for the Palmini mash. The weight of the Palmini packages is not specified, so their exact weight or nutritional information cannot be calculated.
