Hot Honey Garlic Salmon with Sriracha Garlic Aioli
Cubed salmon is marinated in a sweet-savory mixture of honey, soy sauce, garlic, and spices, then seared until golden and basted with buttery sauce. It is served with a creamy, spicy Sriracha-lime aioli and green onions, ideally over jasmine rice.

Ingredients
- 400 g fresh salmon (Cubed into large bite-sized pieces; remove skin if needed)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce (Use low-sodium if preferred)
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 tbsp olive oil (For the marinade)
- 5 garlic (Cloves, minced)
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 2 tsp paprika
- 2 tbsp neutral oil (For searing)
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter (For basting)
- 0.333 cup green onions (Thinly sliced; plus extra for garnish)
- 5 tbsp mayonnaise (For the Sriracha garlic aioli)
- 1 clove garlic (Minced; for the aioli)
- 0.5 lime lime juice (Juiced)
- 1 tbsp Sriracha sauce (Add more if desired)
- jasmine rice (Cooked and used as a serving bed; amount not specified)
Steps
- 1
If needed, remove the skin from the salmon. Cut the fillets into large, forkable bite-sized pieces rather than small finger-food pieces, then pat them dry with paper towels.
- 2
Place the salmon in a bowl. Add the olive oil, rice vinegar, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, paprika, garlic powder, salt, onion powder, and black pepper. Stir to coat the salmon thoroughly and marinate briefly; even 1–2 minutes works, although a longer marinade gives more flavor.
- 3
Heat the neutral oil in a large skillet over medium to medium-low heat. Keep the heat toward the lower side because the honey and soy sauce caramelize quickly.
- 4
Add the salmon to the hot skillet and cook for about 3 minutes per side, until golden and sizzling. Reserve the marinade rather than discarding it.
- 5
Reduce the skillet heat to low. Add the butter and pour in the reserved marinade.
- 6
Simmer the buttery marinade for 2–3 minutes to fully cook off any raw fish juices, basting the salmon with the sauce as it simmers.
- 7
Top the salmon with the 1/3 cup of sliced green onions.
- 8
In a separate bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, minced garlic, lime juice, and Sriracha. Taste and add more Sriracha if desired.
- 9
For serving, build a bed of fluffy jasmine rice, pile the salmon on top, scatter additional green onions over it, and drizzle generously with the aioli.
Notes
The source does not specify an amount of jasmine rice or an exact marinating time beyond noting that 1–2 minutes works and longer gives more flavor. Because the reserved marinade contacts raw salmon, simmer it thoroughly as directed before serving.
