Ingredients
- 3 tbsp potatoes (Peeled, cut, boiled, and drained)
- 3 tbsp cornstarch (Potato starch or tapioca flour may be used instead)
- salt and pepper (To taste)
- mozzarella cheese (For the filling; use some pouches with mozzarella)
- Brie cheese (Optional alternative filling; the creator made some pouches with Brie)
- oil (For heating the pan and frying)
Steps
- 1
Peel three potatoes. Cut them into pieces, boil them, and drain them.
- 2
Add the cornstarch, potato starch, or tapioca flour to the drained potatoes.
- 3
Mash the potatoes and starch together. Add salt and pepper, then mix until the mixture has a soft, pillowy texture.
- 4
Take a small amount of the potato mixture and flatten it into a disk.
- 5
Place mozzarella cheese in the center of the flattened potato mixture. Brie can be used instead for some of the pouches.
- 6
Close the potato mixture around the cheese like a dumpling, sealing the filling inside.
- 7
Shape the sealed pouch until it is round and flat. Repeat with the remaining potato mixture and cheese.
- 8
Heat oil in a pan.
- 9
Fry the potato pouches on each side until they are nice and golden brown.
- 10
Serve the pouches while warm. They should be crispy on the outside and soft and pillowy inside.
Notes
The source does not specify the amount of filling cheese, oil, boiling time, frying time, or pan temperature. The creator used both Brie and mozzarella and encouraged experimenting with other cheeses.
