Ingredients
- Basil (hand chopped)
- Rosemary (hand chopped)
- Parsley (hand chopped)
- Thyme (hand chopped)
- Granulated garlic
- Fresh garlic (hand chopped and dried with a paper towel)
- Crushed red pepper
- Black pepper
- Kosher salt
- 0.5 cup Extra virgin olive oil (for serving)
Steps
- 1
Hand chop the fresh basil, rosemary, parsley, thyme, and fresh garlic. Do not use a food processor, as this can cause the ingredients to lose flavor.
- 2
Dry the freshly chopped garlic thoroughly with a paper towel before adding it to the mix to prevent the blend from forming lumps.
- 3
Combine the chopped fresh herbs and garlic with the granulated garlic, crushed red pepper, black pepper, and kosher salt.
- 4
To serve, place a portion of the herb blend on a small plate and pour high-quality extra virgin olive oil over the top. Serve with warm bread for dipping.
Notes
According to a former employee, using fresh herbs rather than dried is essential for the authentic Carrabba's flavor. Drying the garlic is a key tip to keep the mixture shelf-stable and lump-free.
