Ingredients
- 2 lb ribeye steak (Cut into 1-inch cubes)
- 0.5 tsp salt (Adjust to taste)
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp light soy sauce (For the steak marinade)
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp light brown sugar
- 2 tbsp neutral oil (For searing the steak)
- 8 garlic (Minced)
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter (For the sauce)
- 1 tbsp light soy sauce (For the garlic-butter sauce)
- 0.5 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tsp oyster sauce
- fried garlic (For garnish)
- green onions or parsley (Chopped, for garnish)
Steps
- 1
Cut the ribeye steak into 1-inch cubes and place them in a bowl.
- 2
Add the salt, black pepper, light soy sauce, lemon juice, and brown sugar. Toss until the steak is evenly coated, then let it sit for 15 minutes.
- 3
Heat the neutral oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- 4
Add the marinated steak in a single layer, working in batches if necessary so the pan is not overcrowded.
- 5
Cook the steak for 1–2 minutes, then flip the pieces and sear until browned. Remove the steak from the pan and set it aside.
- 6
Lower the heat to medium-low and add the butter to the same pan. Once it melts, add the minced garlic.
- 7
Sauté the garlic until fragrant and lightly golden, taking care not to burn it.
- 8
Stir in the light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, and oyster sauce. Let the sauce simmer gently until it is slightly thickened.
- 9
Return the steak to the pan and toss until every piece is coated in the garlic-butter sauce.
- 10
Cook for another minute, until the steak is warmed through.
- 11
Serve the steak over a bowl of homemade Java rice or white rice. Top with fried garlic chips and chopped green onions or parsley.
- 12
Eat and enjoy.
Notes
The source recommends serving the steak over homemade Java rice, but does not provide the Java rice recipe. White rice is also suggested. The amount of garnish is unspecified.
