Ingredients
- 0.5 cup unsalted butter
- 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate
- 1 egg
- 1 egg yolk (Listed with the egg as “1 egg / 1 egg yolk.”)
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder (Also used to dust the prepared ramekins.)
- 0.25 cup sugar
- salt (1 pinch)
- 4 tbsp flour
- nonstick cooking spray (Or use butter to grease the ramekins.)
Steps
- 1
Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C).
- 2
Prepare four 6-ounce ramekins by spraying them with nonstick cooking spray or coating them with butter. Dust the interiors with cocoa powder.
- 3
Combine the listed wet ingredients and the listed dry ingredients, following the source instruction to mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.
- 4
Mix only until combined; do not overmix.
- 5
Divide the batter among the four prepared ramekins.
- 6
Bake at 450°F for 8–10 minutes.
- 7
Serve the cakes.
Notes
The source does not specify how to divide the batter, whether the chocolate and butter should be melted first, or how to determine doneness beyond the 8–10 minute baking time. The ingredient line “1 egg / 1 egg yolk” is preserved as one egg plus one yolk, in addition to the separately listed two egg yolks.
