Ingredients

  • 2 cup cooked white rice
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

Steps

  1. 1

Heat a skillet or sauté pan over medium heat until hot.

  2. 2

Add the butter to the hot pan and cook for 3–4 minutes, stirring or swirling occasionally, until it melts and turns brown with a nutty aroma. Do not let it burn.

  3. 3

Add the soy sauce to the browned butter. Stir briefly to combine and let the mixture brown slightly, as described by the creator.

  4. 4

Add the cooked white rice to the pan.

  5. 5

Stir and cook until all the rice is evenly incorporated and coated with the brown-butter soy sauce mixture. Serve immediately.

Notes

The source specifies cooked rice, so prepare the rice separately before beginning if needed. Soy sauce is salty; no additional salt is specified.
