Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas (Peeled and cut lengthwise or into halves)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • salt (A pinch, optional)

Steps

  1. 1

Peel the bananas and cut them lengthwise or into halves. Gently pat them dry with a paper towel so they brown better.

  2. 2

Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and add the butter. Wait until it melts and forms a light foam, without letting it burn.

  3. 3

Place the bananas in the skillet with the cut side facing down. Cook them for 2 to 3 minutes, until the surface is golden brown.

  4. 4

Carefully turn the bananas over. Sprinkle the brown sugar, cinnamon, and pinch of salt around and over them.

  5. 5

Cook for 2 to 3 minutes more, gently shaking the skillet so the sugar melts and coats the bananas. Remove from the heat when they are soft, glossy, and caramelized around the edges.

  6. 6

Serve immediately, plain or accompanied by plain yogurt, ice cream, or oatmeal.
