Ingredients
- 8 sausages (if thick, cut in half lengthwise)
- 2 lavash (thin, cut into strips)
- 2 eggs (for brushing or the batter)
- 2 tbsp oil (for frying)
- breadcrumbs (optional)
Steps
- 1
Prepare the sausages. If they are thick or are frankfurters, cut them in half lengthwise so that the lavash layer is not too thin compared with the filling.
- 2
Cut the lavash into strips whose width corresponds to the length of the sausages.
- 3
Wrap each sausage in a strip of lavash.
- 4
Beat the eggs in a separate bowl. If desired, prepare the breadcrumbs in another container.
- 5
Dip each piece first in the egg and then, if desired, in the breadcrumbs.
- 6
Heat a frying pan with a small amount of oil.
- 7
Fry the sausages in lavash on all sides until golden brown.
Notes
The author notes that they preferred the version without breadcrumbs, but it is a matter of taste. The main advice is to cut thick sausages in half so that the balance between the dough and the filling is better.
