Ingredients
- 4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cup warm water (Warm to the touch.)
- oil or baking grease (For greasing the 9 × 5-inch loaf pan all the way to the top, including the edges; the source does not specify a type or amount.)
- sesame seeds (A little, or enough to cover the top; the source also says other toppings may be used.)
Steps
- 1
Combine the flour, yeast, salt, and warm water in a mixing bowl. The water should feel warm to the touch.
- 2
Using a spoon mixer or mixer on speed 1, mix until no dry flour remains. Do not add extra flour or water if the dough initially seems to need it; continue mixing and trust the process.
- 3
Continue mixing for about 3 minutes, until the dough is very sticky but cohesive and there is no dry flour at the bottom of the bowl.
- 4
Set the dough aside. Grease a 9 × 5-inch loaf pan all the way to the top, including the edges in case the dough overflows during rising.
- 5
Use a spatula to scrape all of the dough into the greased loaf pan, including the remaining dough from the bowl.
- 6
Wet the spatula and smooth the surface of the dough until it is flat and very smooth.
- 7
Cover the pan and let the dough rest until it rises all the way to the top of the pan. The source shows this taking about 35 minutes.
- 8
While the dough rises, preheat the oven to 410°F.
- 9
Uncover the risen dough. Wet its surface and sprinkle a little sesame seed over the top, covering it as desired. Tap the topping lightly so it sticks to the dough.
- 10
Place the loaf pan on the lower-middle rack of the preheated oven and bake for 35 minutes at 410°F.
- 11
Remove the bread from the oven and let it rest for 30 minutes before serving, as stated in the spoken transcript.
Notes
The visible on-screen text specifies baking at 410°F, while the spoken transcript later says 400°F; 410°F was followed because it appears in the ordered visible recipe text. The source does not specify the type of grease, the amount of sesame seeds, or a detailed doneness test. The transcript says to rest the baked bread for 30 minutes.
