Ingredients
- 1 package King's Hawaiian Original Sweet Rolls (Tear apart into rows of three; slice into the tops without cutting all the way through.)
- 1 head romaine lettuce (Chopped.)
- 1 large tomato (Sliced, then chopped.)
- 1 package thick-cut bacon (Cooked and drained. Package weight is not specified.)
- mayonnaise (Drizzle over the chopped ingredients.)
- salt (To taste.)
- black pepper (To taste.)
Steps
- 1
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
- 2
Arrange the thick-cut bacon on the prepared sheet pan and bake for about 25 minutes, or until cooked to your liking.
- 3
Drain any excess bacon grease, then set the cooked bacon aside.
- 4
Carefully tear the Hawaiian rolls apart into rows of three. Slice into the tops of the rolls hot-dog style, taking care not to cut all the way through. Set the rolls aside.
- 5
Lay the romaine lettuce on a large cutting board and give it a quick chop.
- 6
Slice the tomato, then chop it on the cutting board.
- 7
Add the cooked bacon to the chopped lettuce and tomato. Use a large knife to chop all of the ingredients together into small pieces.
- 8
Drizzle mayonnaise over the chopped mixture and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- 9
Stir everything together well so the mayonnaise and seasonings are evenly distributed.
- 10
Scoop the chopped BLT mixture into the prepared Hawaiian rolls and serve.
Notes
The source also describes using leftover bacon from breakfast, but provides oven-baking instructions for a package of thick-cut bacon. The amount of mayonnaise, salt, pepper, and the bacon package size are not specified.
