Ingredients

  • 2 oz 90/10 ground beef (Form into four 2 oz balls; Costco brand specified)
  • 4 slices American cheese (Boar’s Head brand specified; 2 slices per burger)
  • 2 Keto burger buns
  • Yellow onion (Thinly sliced; amount not stated)
  • Jalapeños (Amount not stated)
  • 1.5 tsp Kosher salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 1.25 tsp Garlic powder (Total for seasoning and smash sauce)
  • 0.75 tsp Onion powder (Total for seasoning and smash sauce)
  • 0.5 cup Mayonnaise (For smash sauce)
  • 2 tbsp Ketchup (For smash sauce)
  • 1.5 tsp Hot honey mustard (For smash sauce)
  • 1 tbsp Dill pickles (Finely chopped; for smash sauce)
  • 2 tsp Pickle juice (For smash sauce)
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (For smash sauce)
  • 0.5 tsp Smoked paprika (For smash sauce)

Steps

  1. 1

Mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, hot honey mustard, finely chopped dill pickles, pickle juice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and onion powder and black pepper for the smash sauce. Set it aside.

  2. 2

In a separate bowl, combine the kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder for the seasoning blend.

  3. 3

Heat a griddle until very hot. Add the thinly sliced jalapeños and onion to the griddle.

  4. 4

Place a 2 oz ball of ground beef on top of the vegetables and smash it thin. Repeat with the remaining beef balls to make four patties.

  5. 5

Season the patties with the seasoning blend and cook until they develop a good crust.

  6. 6

Flip the patties and add American cheese. Let the onions caramelize underneath the patties.

  7. 7

Stack two patties together for each burger.

  8. 8

    Toast the keto burger buns.

  9. 9

Spread 1 tablespoon of smash sauce on each bun, add the double patties and jalapeños, then serve.

Notes

The source does not specify amounts for the onion or jalapeños, griddle temperature, or cooking times. It lists 2 oz beef balls and two patties per burger; quantities are scaled to two burgers. Sauce quantity is enough for more than the stated 1 tablespoon per burger, but no storage or leftover instructions are given.
