Ingredients
- Trader Joe’s lobster bisque (Used as the pizza sauce; reduce slightly before using)
- 4 tbsp Butter (½ stick; reserve the garlic butter after cooking the shrimp)
- 5.5 cloves Garlic (Minced; source specifies 5–6 cloves)
- Wild-caught Argentinian shrimp (Season with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper)
- Cajun seasoning (For seasoning the shrimp)
- Salt and pepper (To taste; for seasoning the shrimp)
- Pizza dough (Stretch out before topping)
- Mozzarella (For topping the pizza)
- Parmesan (For topping and finishing)
- Fresh snow crab (For topping the pizza)
- Shallot (Sliced; the author notes it was accidentally omitted from her pizza)
- Red pepper flakes (For finishing)
- Fresh basil (For finishing)
Steps
- 1
Cook the lobster bisque in a saucepan over medium heat for about 5–6 minutes, stirring occasionally, just until it reduces slightly. Set it aside and let it cool completely before using it on the pizza.
- 2
Melt ½ stick of butter in a pan with 5–6 minced garlic cloves.
- 3
Season the shrimp with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- 4
Add the seasoned shrimp to the garlic butter and cook for no longer than 3 minutes.
- 5
Remove the shrimp from the pan and reserve the garlic butter for finishing the pizza.
- 6
Stretch out the pizza dough.
- 7
Top the stretched dough with the cooled lobster bisque, mozzarella, Parmesan, cooked shrimp, snow crab, and sliced shallots.
- 8
For a regular oven, preheat it as high as it will go, ideally 500–550°F. The author used a Breville Pizzaiolo on its Wood Fired setting.
- 9
Bake the pizza until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly. The source does not specify a baking time.
- 10
When the pizza comes out of the oven, brush the crust with some of the reserved garlic butter and drizzle a little over the pizza.
- 11
Finish the pizza with Parmesan, red pepper flakes, and fresh basil.
Notes
Ingredient quantities for the bisque, seafood, dough, cheeses, shallot, and garnishes were not provided. Baking time and the Breville Pizzaiolo temperature were not specified; bake until the stated visual cues are reached. The author notes that the shallot was accidentally omitted from her own pizza, but includes it in the intended topping list.
