Quick Peanut Butter with Egg Whites

Recipe by Josh Dudman @jdudman · Instagram

Imported by Dario on SeeMeCook

A surprisingly thick mixture that mimics the texture of peanut butter using powdered peanut butter and liquid egg whites. It is prepared in just a few minutes and can be adjusted with more egg whites until the desired consistency is reached.

Ingredients

  • 13 g Powdered peanut butter (The Naked brand was used in the video; PB2 also appears on screen.)
  • 20 g Liquid egg whites (Add a little more if necessary to achieve the right consistency.)
  • Salt (To taste; it is noted that it improves the flavor when tasting the mixture.)

Steps

  1. 1

Place 13 g of powdered peanut butter in a bowl.

  2. 2

Add 20 g of liquid egg whites to the powdered peanut butter.

  3. 3

Stir continuously until the ingredients are combined. At first, the mixture may look lumpy or unappetizing, but it will continue to thicken as you stir it.

  4. 4

If the mixture is too thick, add a little more egg white and continue mixing until it reaches the desired consistency, similar to peanut butter.

  5. 5

Taste the mixture and add salt to taste.

  6. 6

    Serve and consume immediately.

Notes

The additional amount of egg whites is not specified in the source, so they should be added gradually. The recipe uses uncooked liquid egg whites; use a pasteurized product if you wish to reduce the risk associated with consuming them raw.
