Ingredients
- 16 oz shrimp (Cleaned, deveined; thawed, butterflied, and patted dry)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 9 garlic (Minced; source states 8–10 cloves)
- 1 tsp chili flakes (Or more, to taste)
- 1.5 tsp paprika
- 2.5 tbsp cilantro (Chopped; source states 2–3 tablespoons)
- 2 tbsp water (To create the sauce)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp Sriracha sauce
- lemon or lime juice (Optional; squeeze to taste)
Steps
- 1
Thaw the shrimp. Cut a slit down the back of each shrimp to butterfly it, then pat the shrimp dry with a napkin.
- 2
Mince the garlic and chop the cilantro.
- 3
Place a skillet over medium heat. Add the olive oil and butter.
- 4
Turn the heat down, add the minced garlic, and cook for about 30 seconds, taking care not to let the garlic burn.
- 5
Sprinkle in the chili flakes, paprika, and chopped cilantro.
- 6
Mix the seasonings and herbs, then add the water and stir to create a sauce.
- 7
Add the shrimp to the skillet and increase the heat to medium.
- 8
Season the shrimp with the salt and mix well.
- 9
Drizzle the Sriracha over the shrimp. Add an optional squeeze of lemon or lime juice, then mix gently.
- 10
Cook for another 1–2 minutes, until the shrimp is cooked. Immediately remove the skillet from the heat so the sauce does not cook away.
- 11
Serve the shrimp as is or with rice or pasta.
Notes
The source does not specify the shrimp quantity by count, exact pan size, or a visual doneness cue. Use the stated 1–2 minute final cooking time and remove from heat immediately afterward.
