Ingredients
- 2 oz Gin
- 0.75 oz Elderflower Liqueur (such as St-Germain)
- 0.75 oz Lime Juice (freshly squeezed)
- 0.5 oz Simple Syrup
- 3 Cucumber (slices, for muddling)
- 5 Mint Leaves (fresh leaves)
- 2 oz Club Soda (to top)
- Ivy Leaf (for garnish; ensure it is cleaned and used for decorative purposes only as real ivy is toxic if ingested)
Steps
- 1
Place the cucumber slices and fresh mint leaves into a cocktail shaker.
- 2
Muddle the cucumber and mint thoroughly to release the juices and oils.
- 3
Add the gin, elderflower liqueur, lime juice, and simple syrup to the shaker.
- 4
Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 10-15 seconds until well-chilled.
- 5
Double strain the mixture into a glass filled with fresh ice to remove the mint and cucumber bits.
- 6
Top the drink with a splash of club soda.
- 7
Garnish with a decorative ivy leaf, being careful to ensure it does not submerge in the drink if using real ivy.
Notes
Warning: Real ivy is toxic. Use it only as a decorative garnish on the outside of the glass or ensure it is a food-safe alternative if it touches the liquid. The flavor profile is light, floral, and crisp.
