Ingredients
- 1 lb cucumbers (sliced)
- 0.25 cup fresh dill (chopped)
- 3 garlic (minced)
- 3 tbsp 5% white vinegar
- 3 tbsp oil (neutral oil or olive oil)
- 1 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp sugar
- 0.5 tsp dried chili flakes (optional)
Steps
- 1
Slice the cucumbers into rounds and place them in a container that has a tight-fitting lid.
- 2
Add the minced garlic, chopped fresh dill, salt, black pepper, sugar, and dried chili flakes (if using) to the container with the cucumbers.
- 3
Pour in the white vinegar and oil over the other ingredients.
- 4
Toss everything together briefly, then close the lid securely.
- 5
Shake the container well until all the cucumber slices are evenly coated with the dressing and seasonings.
- 6
Serve immediately, or for the best flavor, refrigerate for about 1 hour before serving.
Notes
For the best results, use fresh, firm cucumbers. Chilling the pickles for at least an hour allows the flavors to meld and the cucumbers to become more flavorful.
