  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup corn flour (Cornstarch-style corn flour)
  • 10 cloves fresh garlic (Diced)
  • salt (To taste; used in the marinade, flour mixture, and sauce)
  • 1 tbsp black pepper (Use 1/2 tbsp in the marinade, with the remainder in the flour mixture; add more to the sauce to taste)
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce (Use 1 tbsp in the marinade and the remaining 3 tbsp in the sauce)
  • 1 tbsp hot chili sauce or red chili flakes (Use either hot chili sauce or red chili flakes)
  • 4 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (Use 1 tbsp in the marinade and the remaining 3 tbsp in the sauce)
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar (Listed in the ingredients; the method does not specify when to add it)
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup chicken broth or chicken bouillon (The source also specifies mixing the broth or bouillon with 1 cup water)
  • 1 cup water (Mix with the chicken broth or bouillon)
  • 2 tbsp oil (For sautéing the sauce)
  • green onion (Chopped, for garnish)
  • sesame seeds (For garnish)

Steps

  1. 1

Place the cubed chicken breast in a bowl. Add 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, salt to taste, and 1/2 tbsp black pepper. Add the egg and mix thoroughly to coat the chicken. Set aside to marinate.

  2. 2

In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, corn flour, salt, and the remaining black pepper.

  3. 3

Coat the marinated chicken pieces evenly in the flour mixture.

  4. 4

Fry the coated chicken over medium heat until golden brown. Remove the fried chicken from the cooking oil.

  5. 5

Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan. Add the diced garlic and sauté briefly.

  6. 6

Add the honey, remaining soy sauce, remaining Worcestershire sauce, and hot chili sauce or red chili flakes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  7. 7

Sauté the sauce mixture for 2–3 minutes, until everything is combined.

  8. 8

Add the fried chicken to the sauce and toss to coat. Cook for an additional 3–4 minutes.

  9. 9

Add 1 cup chicken broth or chicken bouillon mixed with 1 cup water.

  10. 10

Cover the pan and cook over low heat for 5 minutes.

  11. 11

Garnish with chopped green onion and sesame seeds before serving.
